The center for Support and Inclusion Help Net is doing a project called “Delicatessen Monday” , with the financial support of the Ministry of Public administration and local self-government of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
The project has the goal to connect women participants of four national minority groups with Serbian women, with the goal of conserving cultural heritage. Women belonging to national minority groups, especially the elderly, possess concrete knowledge and skills significant to the preservation and development of society. By the project, it is planned that women of Hungarian, Roman, Bosnian and Northern Serbian minorities share their culinary recipes that are characteristic for their people. A cookbook is planned which represents a collection of interesting culinary recipes of national minorities with the goal of knowledge and experience exchange in the culinary domain. The cookbook will be translated into Serbian as well.
In the scope of the project an event will be held in the Cultural center ‘Grad’ under the name “Delicatessen Monday”. Alongside this, a promotion of the cookbook and the women minority members whose recipes are in the cookbook, and they will prepare some of their favorite dishes from the cookbook. The event will be attended by associates and friends of the organization: along with the representatives of female organizations and the dish tasting will be free for all event participants, when the recipe ‘Cookbook’ will be distributed.
In this way woman members of national minorities connect and exchange their knowledge when culinary recipes are in question and they preserve their cultural heritage at the same time’.
